International Whitsun Conference 2016 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands

We are grateful, that the organizing committee of Living Gold offers us the opportunity to announce the International Whitsun Conference 2016 in Rotterdam on this website.

The first preparations for the 2016 Conference of the Christian Community, to be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, have begun. Although it seems still to be far away, we expect that we need this time to organize an international conference in a proper way. We hope to welcome between 1500 and 2000 participants from Christian Communities from all over the world.  We have chosen to hold the conference in Rotterdam as the port to the world, being easily accessible from all over the world. The venue will take place in Ahoy, a well-known conference centre (http://www.ahoy.nl/about-ahoy).

The organizing committee consists of members of the Netherlands-Flanders synod and the regional board. We have started the first preparations, such as setting up the budget plans. We also have discussed such issues as simultaneous translations, which languages will be offered, how to achieve the leading theme for the conference and so on. Considering the developments within the Christian Community we plan to offer at least English, German, Spanish and Dutch translations, but we may also add Russian.

An important part of the preparations for such an international conference is to identify issues and topics that, within a broadly unifying theme, will form the backbone of the programme.

We hope to incorporate topics that address the important questions that are posed to mankind in this age and that ask to be viewed in the light of the Spirit.

In order to help us in identifying the most timely and urgent topics, we are looking to form small groups of people (both priests and lay people) in various parts of the world. We hope that these groups can relay to us topics that, in their view, are most important to be addressed in this manner. They can also suggest people that seem suitable, either as lecturers or workshop-leaders, to present these issues at the conference. The subject of the topics and possible lecturers will be regularly discussed during the international synod. Direct suggestions via email are of course also welcome.

Since there is not yet a website (expected release at the beginning of 2015) we will continue to disseminate information about the conference via the newsletter Informationen (produced by the Foundation based on contributions from the regions of the Christian Community worldwide), via the priests through the Rundbrief and the international synods.

With best regards on behalf of the organizing committee,
