Where has all the Gold gone?  The development of painting in the Italian Renaissance

Lecture with images of renaissance paintings that allows us to follow the transformation of the backgrounds from the archetypal gold of the heavenly world through blues to the muted and seemingly dull grey’s of individual portraits. Where has the gold gone? Has it been lost or transformed? Can we find a hint in the art works of the beginning of the Consciousness Soul epoch that can help with a sense for our own times.
