The Economics of Gold

Backing Money:
with Physical or Spiritual Gold?

The question has become acute: what gives money its value?
In former times the gold standard tied the value of currency to the rare metal. Since the freeing of the “floating” dollar, the tie has been loosened and thereby the issuing of money no longer had limits. Must we return to backing money with gold, or go forward to a new way of dealing with money?
